About
We focused on capturing the humanity, dignity, and compassion at the core of the organization’s mission. Through intimate interviews with the CEO, medical staff, and patients currently receiving care, the film highlighted deeply personal testimonials that reflected the center’s impact on individuals experiencing homelessness and medical vulnerability. By combining observational cinematography with authentic storytelling, the project aimed to create an emotionally grounded portrait of healing, community, and hope.
Our connection to Center for Respite Care began through a mutual relationship with a staff member whose passion for the organization’s mission immediately resonated with us. Located in the heart of Cincinnati, a city deeply connected to our own hometown roots, the project became an opportunity to tell a story that felt both personal and impactful.
Through interviews with patients, medical staff, and leadership, we created a film centered on compassion, resilience, and the life-changing care the center provides to individuals experiencing homelessness and medical vulnerability.
Project Workflow

Discovery & Story Development
We began by identifying the emotional core of the project through pre-production planning, focusing on patient experiences, staff perspectives, and the organization’s mission. Interview structures and production logistics were mapped out to create a comfortable, respectful filming environment.

Interview-Led Production
The production centered around interviews with patients, the CEO, nurses, and staff members, capturing heartfelt testimonials alongside observational moments throughout the facility. A timed production schedule ensured seamless coverage of interviews, walking sequences, medical care interactions, and community spaces.

Cinematic B-Roll & Sound Capture
To reinforce authenticity, we captured natural interactions, emotional cutaways, environmental details, and raw location sound throughout the center. The visual approach emphasized warmth, realism, and human connection through wide, medium, and intimate close-up coverage.

Post-Production & Narrative Assembly
In post-production, interviews and observational footage were carefully woven together to create a narrative centered on resilience, compassion, and recovery. Natural pacing, restrained editing, and ambient sound design allowed each story to feel personal, sincere, and emotionally impactful.

What distinguished our approach was our commitment to authenticity and emotional sensitivity throughout every stage of production. Rather than relying on overly polished corporate storytelling, we focused on observational cinematography, natural sound capture, and emotionally driven interviews that allowed each individual’s experience to speak for itself.
